Tasting Notes

2006 Zinfandel, Sonoma County

The 2006 Sonoma County Old Vine Zinfandel is a classic representation of the region’s best Zins—always flavorful, never heavy. Bright, flashy, ripe raspberry, blackberry, and vanilla flavors are wrapped around a soft, sweet fruit core highlighted by scents of cinnamon. 2006 was a vintage that produced very expressive, wonderfully dramatic wines. This elegant wine has great balance and structure with a bright, long, berry-like finish that make it a beautiful complement to all kinds of food. The 2006 Sonoma County Old Vine Zinfandel can be consumed now, but will age well and will be a pleasure to drink in seven to ten years.
