Tasting Notes

Ravenswood Cabernet Sauvignon
Sonoma County

The 2006 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully balanced with power and elegance. Fragrant cassis, black currant, cherries and spice tones dominate the complex aroma. Palate tastes of ripe cherries and vanilla from the French oak that is never cloying or heavy. The finish is bright with silky tannins and very refined. The spice and perfume from the Cabernet Sauvignon and the mid-body weight from a great vintage are apparent and make this wine a beautifully confluent experience. It will age nicely for ten to twelve years and will be quite enjoyable as it moves into adolescence in four to six years. This is one of the nicest Sonoma County Cabernets in years.
