Tasting Notes

2006 Ravenswood Belloni Zinfandel
Russian River Valley

Ravenswood has been harvesting grapes from the Russian River Valley’s Belloni Vineyard since 1991. This family-owned
vineyard of magnificent old vines, lovingly tended to by the late Ricardo Belloni, is a family affair. Carrying on Ricardo’s legacy, his wife, Natalie, works with their
children and grandchildren to care for the vineyard and preserve its heritage. The 2006 Belloni is characterized
by particularly big ripe flavor—a characteristic achieved by the cofermentation of Zinfandel, Carignane, Petite Sirah, and Alicante Bouchet grapes as well as
the small coop of exceptional weather for the Russian River in this vintage. Seemingly sweet, this wine is
actually very round and full with lots of boysenberry, raspberry, and blueberry hints to it. The nice acidity
gives the wine a good balance and structure. Enjoy its long, elegant finish which fills the palate beautifully.
